Rum School Assistant
About us
Goldstone Rum is an award winning Sussex scratch rum making waves across the industry. Their products can be found in over 200 locations across Sussex and the South East. Their rum school is an extension of this where guests can come and distill their own bottle of rum. Giving guests a great time and a lasting memory is hugely important for John and Georgina and with the brand growing they require a new team member to support their school.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be assisting with our rum school distilling experience where guests come and learn how to distill their own rum recipe using our range of fruits, spices and botanicals.
As part of the evening you’ll be supporting the Rum School Manager by making cocktails, helping guests develop and create their own recipe, clearing up and tidying down throughout the evening and ensuring they have a really great evening.
The evening itself normally lasts for 2.5hrs for guests with set up before the guests arrive and tidying down once they leave.
Requirements
– This role would suit someone in education or who is looking for additional hours on top of their existing role
– Must be over 18 and have your own transport the distillery is located in Henfield
– Above all you’ll be a lovely person with a personable, friendly manner who loves working with people and helping them to have a great experience
– Experience in hospitality with a knowledge of drinks is desirable
– An interest in distilling, how alcohol is made and a knowledge of how to bring together flavours, guests often need guidance from us to build their recipe – don’t worry if you don’t have this already we can teach you
– You’ll need to be available on adhoc Friday and Saturday evenings from 5.00 – 10.00pm as required by our timetable, normally between 2-6 shifts a month
